The ex James Bond's part in the Bigger Splash and Call Me by Your Name auteur's latest work is as keenly awaited as Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in the Joker sequel, Angelina Jolie in Maria (Callas) by Pablo Larrain, and Robert Pattinson in Mickey 17, said the American entertainment bible.
Queer also features Lesley Manville (Princess Margaret in The Crown) and cult actor Jason Schwartzman.
Palermo-born Guadagnino, 52, whose Call Me By Your Name made Timothée Chalamet a star and brought a best adapted screenplay Oscar, is also debuting tennis triangle The Challengers this year, starring Zendaya, Josh O' Connor and Mike Faist.
