Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister
Antonio Tajani on Monday said he was visiting Israel and
Palestine to support a ceasefire between Tel Aviv and Hamas in
Gaza.
"The objective of this visit to Israel and Palestine is to
support the truce", Tajani told a press conference in Jerusalem.
"We would like the Abraham Accords to take off again", the
foreign minister also said.
"I reiterated the strong commitment for a ceasefire, our
friendship with Israel but also the need to solve all existing
problems in Palestine.
"I spoke with (Israeli) Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar about aid
in Gaza.
"In Ramallah, I spoke with Palestinian Premier (Mohammed)
Mustafa about reconstruction", Tajani noted, adding he had also
discussed the issue with the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem,
Italian Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa.
