Premier Giorgia Meloni landed in
Washington DC on Monday to attend Donald Trump's inauguration as
president of the United States for the second time.
Meloni, the leader of the right-wing Brothers of Italy (FdI)
party, is on friendly terms with Trump and with his future
co-head of a new government efficiency department, the world's
richest man Elon Musk.
She recently paid a flying visit to Trump's Florida HQ at
Mar-a-Lago.
