Pope Francis on Sunday expressed his
proximity to the church community of St Mary in Sariyer in
Istanbul after a man was earlier shot dead by masked gunmen
during Mass.
"I express my closeness to the community of the church of St
Mary in Sariyer, in Istanbul, which suffered an armed attack
during Mass that left one person dead and several wounded," said
Francis during the Angelus prayer and blessing at the Vatican.
