Tommaso Giacomel on Wednesday won the
silver medal in the 20km individual at the Biathlon World
Championships in Lenzerheide, the first Italian medal in the
event underway in the Swiss location.
The silver takes Italy back onto the podium of the most classic
biathlon race 32 years after the gold of Andreas Zingerle
(Borovets 1993), the only previous Italian medal for men in the
20km.
The gold went to Frenchman Eric Perrot and the bronze to his
compatriot Quentin Fillon Maillet
