Italy got the gold and the bronze in
the women's 1m springboard at the European Aquatics
Championships in Rome on Tuesday, raising Italy's overall gold
tally at the championships to 10.
Milan born Elena Bertocchi, 27, won the event, repeating her
success in Budapest in 2020.
Chiara Pellacani, a 19-year-old from Rome, came third.
Sweden's Emma Gullstrand got the silver.
Italy currently top the medal table at the championships with
ten gold medals and is expected to get to at least 11 when star
swimmer Gregorio Paltrinieri contests the 1500m freestyle
tonight after winning the 800m event at the weekend.
The Italian gold-medal haul also include two from Simona
Quadarella in the women's 800m and 1500m freestyle.
The Netherlands is second with four golds and Hungary and France
joint third with three.
Britain, Sweden and Romania are joint fifth with two.
The championships have two days to go, Tuesday and Wednesday.
