Italy's Jannik Sinner ended the year
in the top ten of world tennis having risen from 11th in the ATP
rankings thanks to his win over Hubert Hurkacz in the ATP Finals
in Turin after stepping in to replace his injured compatriot
Matteo Berrettini.
At 20 years and two months, only Rafa Nadal, Novak Djokovic and
Andy Murray were younger than the Alto Adige player when they
got into the top ten.
Sinner is seven months younger than Roger Federer when he did
it.
Berrettini, a 25-year-old Roman and current world number seven,
has been in the top ten since NOvember 2019.
