Elena Fanchini has been
cleared to return to skiing after recovering from a tumour that
threatened to end her career in January, the Italia Skiing
Federation said Friday.
Brescia-born Fanchini, 33, has two World Cup victories, both
in downhill, which came nine years apart.
She has represented Italy at two Winter Olympics and four
World Championships.
Her sister Nadia has a world championship downhill silver
from 2013.
The third sister, Sabrina, also competes for Italy.
