"On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Bardo Museum in Tunis, Ambassador Alessandro Prunas, the entire embassy and representatives of Sistema Italia in Tunisia join in remembering the victims. This was followed by a commemoration ceremony at the Italian Embassy, during which a minute's silence was observed'. This was announced by the Italian diplomatic representation on X.
"We honour today the memory of Giuseppina Biella, Francesco Caldara, Orazio Conte, Antonella Sesino and all those who, ten years ago, lost their lives in the cowardly terrorist attack on the Bardo Museum," said Ambassador Prunas, also paying tribute to "the commendable sacrifice of the agent of the Tunisian anti-terrorist brigades, Aymen Morjen, who fell while protecting an Italian citizen, and to the great courage shown by the Tunisian guide Naceur (Hamadi) Ben Abdesslem in bringing dozens of Italian citizens to safety at the risk of his own life".
On 18 March 2015, two young Tunisian men, armed with Kalashnikovs, entered the Bardo Museum and carried out a massacre. 24 people died in the attack, including four Italian tourists
