The names of the UK-Italy Young Leaders Programme 2025 were announced today: a joint programme to promote young talent supported by the governments of Italy and the United Kingdom, now in its second year.
The initiative is implemented by the Italian Embassy in London and the British Embassy in Rome, as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the UK and Italy signed in London in April 2023. At the end of a selection process that saw a large participation, 16 young professionals were chosen for their spirit of initiative and excellence in their respective fields, and their commitment to strengthening Italian-British ties.
Over the course of the year, they will participate in a series of activities aimed at consolidating bilateral relations of collaboration and friendship, culminating in a visit to the UK and one to Italy during which they will have the opportunity to interface and promote a fruitful dialogue with leading exponents of the political-institutional, business, technological, cultural, scientific and communication worlds of both countries. To complete the programme, they will join the Young Leaders Alumni network, through which they will ensure that cooperation between the UK and Italy continues for generations to come.
The list of nominees released by the Italian diplomatic office in London includes Giulia Aloisio Rafaiani, director of communications and strategy at Strategic Partners; Beatrice Bergami, cybersecurity architect at Goldman Sachs; Nathalie Biancheri Chiappori, film director; Marcello Brognoli, Navy officer; Carlo Cattaneo, GCAP programme manager at Rolls Royce; Meganne Christian, reserve astronaut at the UK Space Agency; Daniel Colaianni, founder and managing director of AIXR Unicorn; Riccardo D'Andrea, civil servant at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers; Melania Edwards, founder and managing partner of Limitless; Matteo Forte, founder and managing director of SWITCH; Jonathan Heywood, director of media relations at Prysmian; Federica Onori, Member of Parliament for Action; Antony A.
