Sonia Amiri, founder of the Oléa Amiri olive oil company, was awarded the Women Entrepreneurs of Tunisia 2025 prize in the Agri Business category, promoted by the Support for Sustainable Development in Agriculture and Artisanal Fisheries in Tunisia (Adapt) programme of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS). The award, presented by the Italian Ambassador in Tunis, Alessandro Prunas, recognises her commitment to sustainable agriculture and the production of high quality organic olive oil. The Adapt programme, funded by the European Union (EU) with a budget of EUR 70 million, supports sustainable development in the agriculture and fisheries sector in Tunisia. The initiative, which started in 2020 and runs until 2028, is implemented by AICS in cooperation with the World Food Programme (WFP). The prize offers Sonia Amiri the opportunity to participate in the international trade fair Macfrut in Italy, an opportunity to broaden her market prospects and develop her network of international contacts, as well as a cash sum.
