The 2025 edition of the 'Italian Design Day' in Paraguay, organised by the Italian Embassy, will be held between 24 and 26 February. This was reported by the diplomatic office in a statement, pointing out that the events will be open to the public.
The 'Miguel Acevedo' room of the Centro Cultural Manzana de la Rivera in Asunción will host the photographic exhibition 'Career Photography. Homage of Italian Photography to the Masters of the Compasso d'Oro Award', which will display a selection of images dedicated to the winners of the Compasso d'Oro Career Photography Award, the oldest and most prestigious industrial design award in the world. The exhibition will be open to the public on 25 and 26 February from 8.30 am to 8 pm. The images have been made available by the Association for Industrial Design (Adi).
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Monday 24 February at 20:00 and will see the special presence of Professor Fabrizio Quatrini, senior architect, designer and lecturer at the Accademia del Lusso in Rome, the guest of honour of this exhibition. The professional - with a background combining architecture, design and visual communication - will share his vision on design and its impact on society. Quattrini has also worked in design for Habitat Legno S.p.A. and collaborated with architecture and engineering firms, specialising in 3D modelling and project management. Passionate about photography, he has developed branding and interior design projects.
As part of the programming, Quatrini will offer the Masterclass 'Inequalities. How to mend the fractures of humanity' at the Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design of the National University of Asunción. The session will be held on 24 February in two shifts: the first in the morning, at 9:00 a.m., and the second in the afternoon, at 4:30 p.m., in order to accommodate the numerous adhesions received from the academic world and architecture students.
The 'Italian Design Day' is a global event that aims to highlight the excellence of Italian design and its impact on everyday life. In this edition, the role of design in reducing inequalities and its contribution to social welfare will be explored, addressing topics such as space design, accessibility, sustainability, education, health, urban regeneration, transport and infrastructure.
The event represents a unique opportunity to appreciate the influence of design in the improvement of individual and collective wellbeing, consolidating Paraguay as a meeting point for cultural exchange between Italy and Paraguay. and the debate on the future of design at a global level.
