A 75-year-old pensioner stabbed his
wife to death near Bari on Friday, the latest in a spate of
femicides in Italy.
The man alleged killed the woman, who was slightly younger than
him, and then called the police, confessing: "Come, I killed my
wife".
The femicide was committed in the couple's home in Mariotto, a
hamlet in the municipality of Bitonto, about forty kilometers
from Bari.
According to reports, the man attempted to take his own life
immediately afterward, but failed.
When they arrived, the police found him in the bathroom.
