Premier Giorgia Meloni explained that
she did not take part in a meeting of the leaders of France,
Germany, Britain, Poland and Ukraine after Friday's European
Political Community (EPC) summit in Tirana because he government
is not willing to send troops to Ukraine as things stand.
"Italy has long stated that it is not willing to send troops to
Ukraine and it would make no sense to participate in formats
aimed at something which we have not declared our readiness
for," Meloni told reporters in Tirana.
"I think it is a question of consistency and clarity".
