Ethan Nichols, the child who was
reported missing by his Italian mother Claudia Ciampa on August
30 and found in November by police in California where he had
been taken by his American father, will return to Italy on
Thursday, the Italian foreign ministry has said.
The Farnesina, Italy's embassy in Washington and all Italian
consulates in the US had worked with American authorities to
track down the little boy.
On February 19, US judges ruled that Ethan could return home to
Italy.
Ethan was abducted as a baby by the former partner of Ciampa, a
native of Piana di Sorrento near Naples, during a holiday in
Puglia.
He was found on November 19 thanks to police officers in the US
who tracked down Eric Howard Nichols, the biological dad, and
handed back to his mother.
