Some 18 people including a TV
personality have been placed under investigation for Web hate
against a 26-year-old trail runner who was killed by a bear he
accidentally ran into in Trentino last year, judicial sources
said Wednesday.
The late Andrea Papi was inundated with hate messages saying it
was all his fault that the bear, JJ4, faced a cull order that
has since been scotched by the courts.
JJ4, who is set to be placed in a new home outside Trentino,
where there are too many problematic bears, was said to be
defending her cubs when she mauled Papi to death.
Among those probed for disseminating hate is Daniela Martani, an
ex Alitalia hostess who has become a minor TV personality.
The suspects are facing possible action after a complaint from
Papi's family.
