Lombardy's coronavirus commissioner Guido Bertolaso said Tuesday he was positive for the coronavirus and would "win this battle".
He said he had a few lines of fever but otherwise felt OK.
Bertolaso said he would continue to work to set up a new coronavirus hospital in the Milan Fair area ans would coordinate efforts in the Marche region too.
Marche Governor Luca Ceriscioli on Tuesday went into quarantine after taking part in a meeting Monday with Bertolaso.
Ceriscioli, who wore a mask and gloves during the meeting, said he would continue remotely following the construction of a hospital at the Milan Fair area and a structure with 100 intensive care beds in Marche.
