British tabloids on Thursday published photographs of British lawyer Amal Alamuddin arriving in Milan carrying a large black parcel alleged to contain her the dress she will wear for her wedding to Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney in Venice this weekend. The 36-year-old lawyer of Lebanese origin is rumoured to have chosen a dress designed by Sarah Burton for the label Alexander McQueen.
This is the same designer and label chosen by Kate Middleton for her wedding to Prince William in April 2011. Alamuddin and Clooney are due to tie the knot at the Ca' Farsetti, a 14th-century palazzo that houses Venice's town hall, in a civil ceremony presided by ex-Rome mayor Walter Veltroni on Monday following a weekend of celebrations that have already been dubbed 'wedding of the year'.
