Pope Francis's clinical picture
remains complex as he battles pneumonia following an isolated
breathing crisis Friday afternoon, Vatican sources said on
Saturday.
The 88-year-old Argentine pontiff has not had any more such
crises, it said.
The 'bronchospasm', which brought on a fit of vomiting, did not
affect other organs and the pope does not have fever.
His prognosis remains guarded and doctors continue to say he is
not out of danger.
The pope spent a quiet night and is now resting, the Vatican
press office said.
Doctors said Friday it would take a couple of days to gauge
whether the respiratory crisis has worsened the pope's
condition.
Meanwhile the pope continued to work and appointed as bishop of
the diocese of Ajmer in India the Rev. John Carvalho, of the
clergy of the same diocese, until now principal of St. Paul's
Sr. Sec. School, in Ajmer.
