Several members of Giorgia Mewloni's
rightwing Brothers of Italy (FdI) party are set to complain to
Italy's privacy watchdog over the publication by leftwing daily
Il Fatto Quotidiano of internal FdI chats where rightwing League
party leader Matteo Salvini is described on several occasions as
a "f**king baby", embarrassing the ruling parties.
Salvini, a key ally of Meloni's, was so described when the FdI
was in opposition to the government in which Salvini was
interior minister, and he has dismissed the remarks as
"belonging to the past".
FdI sources said the party officials were mulling citing Il
Fatto for criminal damages over the publication of the chats
dating back from last year to 2014.
