Italian actress Jasmine Trinca has
been included in the jury of the Berlin Film Festival called to
award this year's Golden and Silver Bears, according to a press
release from the Berlinale.
The actress, who is also involved in directing, joins four
fellow directors (the American actor Brady Corbet, the Chinese
from Hong Kong Ann Hui, the German Christian Petzold, the
Spaniard Albert Serra) and the Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko.
The president of the 74th edition of the Berlinale, as already
announced, is the Kenyan-Mexican actress, director, producer and
best-selling author Lupita Nyong'o.
Rome-born Trinca, 42, began her career in 2001, chosen by cult
director Nanni Moretti for his award-winning The Son's Room, and
receiving the Guglielmo Biraghi prize as Best New Talent of the
Year.
In 2004, she won a Nastro d'Argento for The Best of Youth (La
meglio gioventù).
Trinca worked again with Moretti in Il caimano (2006).
In 2022, Trinca made her feature-length directorial debut with
Marcel!, which premiered at the 75th Cannes Festival.
