Italy is to host the first ever
ministerial-level meeting on disability and inclusion under its
G7 presidency in 2024, Disability Minister Alessandra Locatelli
said on Wednesday.
"Italy will promote for the first time in the world at
ministerial level the G7 Inclusion and Disability. It will take
place on October 14, 15 and 16 in 'Umbria," Locatelli told
reporters following an extraordinary meeting of the National
Observatory on the Condition of Persons with Disabilities to
mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on
Sunday.
"It will be an important opportunity for G7 ministers to share
strategies to guarantee everyone the right to full civil, social
and political participation in daily life, in all countries,"
she added, thanking Premier Giorgia Meloni for supporting the
new ministerial line.
