Organisation of the funeral of
two-time former president Giorgio Napolitano, who died in Rome
on Friday aged 98, was in full swing on Monday at the Lower
House, where the non-religious ceremony will be held in the main
chamber on Tuesday at 11:30 local time.
Napolitano's son Giulio, biblical scholar Cardinal Gianfranco
Ravasi, European Commissioner for Economic Affairs and former
Italian Premier Paolo Gentiloni, former Italian Premier and
expert in constitutional law Giuliano Amato and former
magistrate and centre-left politician Anna Finocchiaro were
among the figures slated to speak during the funeral, which will
last no more than 90 minutes.
