Media watchdog AGCOM said Friday it
had taken down some 45 pirate websites that had been illegally
streaming Serie A and B soccer matches.
It said it had been helped by internet service providers.
AGCOM sai it was "upping the fight" against illegally streamed
live sporting events.
Many Italians skirt costly subscription to legally streaming
channels.
One pirate system offers all sports and TV channels, and even
films that are being shown in cinemas.
