Italy's Federica Brignone won the combined event at the skiing world championships at Meribel Monday.
It is Italy's first gold at the championships at the French
resort.
The 32-year-old from Milan took the gold ahead of Swiss Wendy
Haldener, silver, and Austria's Ricarda Haaser, bronze.
US superstar Mikaela Shiffrin, 96/100ths behind Brignone after
the SuperG and closing fast in the slalom, skied out at the last
gate.
