An Italian woman who ordered her
ex-boyfriend's murder got 30 years on appeal from a Bari court
on Wednesday.
Michele Amedeo, a 51-year-old dustman, was killed in the carpark
of a Bari municipal waste collection company on April 25 2015.
His former lover Vincenza Mariani, a businesswoman from Cassano
delle Murge, was found guilty of commissioning the murder.
The woman's son-in-la Giuseppe Baccellieri was convicted of
carrying out the hit while career criminal Massimo Margheriti, a
former employee of Mariani's furniture factory, was found to
have driven the getaway car.
All three got 30 years in jail.
Mariani decided to have Amedeo murdered because she was angry
that he had left her, the court found.
