The House on Friday approved a
budget amendment cracking down on ticket touts, both online and
offline, setting fines of 5,000-180,000 euros. In the cases of
Internet use, websites may be taken down, the amendment said.
Occasional sales by private individuals are not sanctioned as
long as they are not for "commercial" reasons. There have been
recent scandals involving the massive online sales of tickets
for concerts including Coldplay and Bruce Springsteen, in which
prices have been inflated many times over.
