Italian exports dropped by 0.4% in
2024 compared to the previous year, falling by 1.9% for EU
countries but rising 1.2% for non-EU ones, while imports
decreased by 3.9%, down 2.2% for EU countries and 6.2% for
non-EU countries, Istat said on Monday.
The national statistics agency said Italy registered a trade
surplus of 54.923 billion euros last year, up from 34.011
billion in 2023.
It said the surplus was 104.478 billion euros when energy is
excluded, up from 99.148 billion in 2023.
