Pope Francis is set to make a full
recovery, Cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi, the president of the
Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI), said on Thursday, stressing
that the Vatican has been transparent about pontiff's state of
health.
"We are all worried about the pope, but what is being said is
exactly what is happening," said Zuppi, who is also the
Archbishop of Bologna and was tasked by Pope Francis with
leading the Vatican's efforts to contribute to the end of the
war in Ukraine.
"The fact that the Pope had breakfast, read the newspapers,
received people means that we are going in the right direction
for a full recovery, which we hope will happen soon".
