An emergency services doctor was
ordered to save an elderly woman at gunpoint by her son when
responding to a call at a social-housing complex in Turin, the
online version of the daily newspaper La Stampa reported on
Tuesday.
"If you don't save my mother I'll kill you', the man allegedly
said, holding the gun to the medic's head.
Despite the threat, the doctor reportedly managed focus on
resuscitating the 83-year-old woman, who had heart trouble.
Italy has been hit by an epidemic of attacks on health workers.
