"This agreement for green hydrogen that we are signing with countries on the other side of the Mediterranean is a step towards helping businesses.
It is part of a strategy to have an energy mix that can make us free and reduce the cost of energy, which makes our companies less competitive," said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani at the end of the signing of the Southern Hydrogen Corridor (South H2) Declaration between Italy, Austria, Germany, Tunisia, and Algeria at Villa Madama in Rome.
"If our products are too
expensive due to energy costs, they risk losing competitiveness,
despite their exceptional quality," Tajani continued. "As a
result, the fight to lower energy prices is critical for us, and
I believe Minister Pichetto-Fratin's work is progressing in the
right direction, even though it focusses on nuclear power,"
Tajani noted.
