standing up for Europe." The President of the European
Parliament, Roberta Metsola, wrote the following in X on the
occasion of 9 May, the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
The Schuman Declaration was a historic proposal that was
presented in 1950 by the French Foreign Minister, Robert
Schuman, and served as the foundation for European cooperation.
