Another severely injured victim of
the mid-March fire at the Kocani nightclub in North Macedonia
died today, bringing the death toll to 61. Macedonian Health
Minister Arben Taravari reported that the deceased was a
29-year-old man who had been hospitalized in Lithuania.
Just a few days ago, the director of the nightclub "Pulse"—the
site of the tragedy—also died in the Baltic country. He had
suffered severe burns and had been transferred abroad, like many
of the nearly 200 people injured in the Kocani fire. The
nightclub operated completely illegally, without a valid
license, and lacked essential safety measures inside and outside
the venue.
