"In an increasingly unpredictable
global context, countries are lining up to collaborate with us,"
the Commission's President Ursula Von der Leyen told Politico,
avoiding mentioning Trump or the US. In recent weeks, she has
spoken with the leaders of Iceland, New Zealand, Malaysia, the
Philippines, Canada, India, and the United Arab Emirates, all of
whom are looking for "strong and reliable partners," at a time
when the world order "is changing more profoundly than ever
since the end of the Cold War, in the midst of chaos, the EU
remains firm, anchored to its values, ready to shape what is to
come."
