Both Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed their satisfaction with the excellent level of cooperation within NATO in the security and defence sectors, especially with the support of the Hungarian-led multinational battalion by the Italian Armed Forces (260 soldiers).
This was
stated in a joint statement issued following the meeting at
Palazzo Chigi, in which the two heads of government "confirmed
that they will continue to guarantee their presence in support
of NATO and EU initiatives for the stabilisation of the Western
Balkans, and reiterated their strong support for the region's
enlargement process."
