The German construction sector is
sending mixed signals: the Federal Statistical Office reports
that 17,900 permits for the construction of new apartments were
issued in February 2025, a 2.3% decrease from February 2024.
This is a negative figure following an increase in January:
35,900 permits were issued in the first two months of the year,
representing a 2.1% increase over the same period in 2024.
