The Austrian parties ÖVP
(Austrian People's Party), SPÖ (Socialist Party), and Neos
(Liberals) have confirmed their intention to form a government
coalition, according to Austrian media. The presidents of the
three parties, Christian Stocker (ÖVP), Andreas Babler (SPÖ),
and Beate Meinl-Reisinger (Neos), have communicated the results
of consultations to Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen.
The three parties assured that, while some issues remain
unresolved, the finalisation process is now underway, and the
new government could be formed as early next week.
