Premier Giorgia Meloni said at a
meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House
Thursday that she was certain they could forge an agreement
between the US and the European Union on tariffs.
Answering a question on the reciprocal tariffs, Meloni said: "I
am sure that an agreement can be reached.
"We can find common ground, I am not in favour of Western
nationalism but we can both emerge stronger, we want to
strengthen both sides of the Atlantic."
"I think we need to talk frankly and meet halfway."
"I would like to invite President" Trump "to make an official
visit to our country and we would like to organize a meeting
with Europe," she went on.
