German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on
Monday said he disagreed with the Pope's statements on Ukraine's
alleged need to negotiate with Russia using the image of a white
flag.
"With regard to Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine,
Germany's position is very clear: Kyiv has the right to defend
itself and can count on our support in this regard, with many
options," Scholz said, speaking in Berlin and responding at a
press conference to a question about "how he reacts to the
Pope's statements".
