Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told journalist Bruno Vespa on Rai TV Saturday that it had been an honour to see Pope Francis earlier in the day but that any peace plan to end the war with Russia must be Ukrainian, not the Vatican's, although he was very interested in involving the Holy See in their formula for peace.
"For me it was an honour to meet His Holiness, but he knows my
position, the war is in Ukraine and the plan must be Ukrainian.
We are very interested in involving the Vatican in our formula
for peace", said Zelensky in a special edition of Vespa's Porta
a Porta programme.
