German Chancellor Angela Merkel,
French President Francois Hollande and Italian Premier Matteo
Renzi will dine in Naples Sunday before taking helicopters to
the island of Ventotene the next morning for a 'summit' on EU
issues, Naples daily Il Mattino said Wednesday.
Renzi chose Ventotene for the meeting because the Pontine
island was where two detained anti-Fascists seen as being
fathers of what would become the EU, Altiero Spinelli and
Ernesto Rossi, wrote a famous manifesto for a united Europe in
WWII.
