AS Roma fans were divided on Tuesday after the club announced it had sacked coach José Mourinho following a poor run of form.
While some supporters welcomed the move with posts featuring the hashtag #MourinhoOut, other said it was a mistake.
"I'll never get over this news," said Valentina on X.
"It's a stabbing that we did not deserve".
An Instagram user, Gianluca, blamed the club, saying it should "be ashamed" of the squad it had given Mourinho to work with.
Other fans expressed doubts about the timing of the dismissal.
"Changing coach during the season is always a big mistake," said a fan called Lorenzo.
"Mourinho's cycle was over, but they should have waited until June out of respect for someone who took us to the summit of Europe".
Other fans were already focused on the future, with some calling for the club to bring in former Italy boss Antonio Conte.
