Ex Italy, Man City and Inter coach
Roberto Mancini said Monday he had been taken aback by three
players in his Saudi squad refusing to play an Asian Cup tie
against Oman in Qatar unless they were guaranteed to start the
game.
"I've never had anything like this happen to me before," he said
of the trio at the pre-match press conference.
The Marche born former Samp, Lazio and Italy striker said he had
already found replacements.
Mancini has been criticised in Italy for giving up the Azzurri
bench for a lucrative contract in the Gulf state amid claims of
sportswashing rights abuses.
