Italy on Saturday lost its first
United Cup 2024 clash 2-1 to Germany.
Angelica Moratelli and Lorenzo Sonego went down 6-3 6-0 in the
decisive doubles rubber to former world no 1 Angelique Kerber,
back after an 18-month maternity break, and former number two
Alexander Zverev.
In the singles earlier Jasmine Paolin played through cramp to
beat Kerber 6-4 7-5 while Zverev came from behind to beat Sonego
6-7, 6-3, 6-4.
