Serie A champions Napoli suffered a
humiliating 4-0 defeat at home to Frosinone in the Italian Cup
on Tuesday to crash out of the competition in the last 16.
Enzo Barrenechea, Giuseppe Caso, Walid Cheddira and Abdou
Harroui were on target to put the visitors into the
quarter-finals.
All Frosinone's goals came in the second half after Napoli coach
Walter Mazzarri had brought on star players Victor Osimhen and
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in a bid to find a winning goal.
It is another setback for Napoli, whose Serie A title defence
looks to already be over.
They are fifth in the table with 27 points from 16 games, 14
points behind leaders Inter.
They are on their second coach of the season.
Napoli brought back 62-year-old Mazzarri, who was in charge of
them from 2009 until 2013, after sacking Rudi Garcia last month
following a poor start to the season.
Garcia had replaced Luciano Spalletti, who moved on to the helm
of the Italian national team after leading Napoli to their first
Serie A title in 33 years last season.
