Former Roma and Italy striker and
Fiorentina, Sampdoria, AC Milan, Sevilla and Adana Demirspor
manager Vincenzo Montella was named Turkey's new head coach
Thursday, replacing Germany's Stefan Kuntz after a poor run in
Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Pomigliano d'Arco-born Montella, 49, led Adana to their best
ever finish in the Super Lig last season, finishing fourth to
qualify for European competition for the first time in the
club's history.
The Turkish Football Federation made Montella's appointment
official Thursday saying "Benvenuto, Vincenzo Montella", in
Italian, on its website.
