Tributes flowed in Saturday for
former Ascoli, Brescia, Bologna and Roma boss Carlo 'Carletto'
Mazzone, one of the most colorful figures in Italian soccer, who
has died at the age of 86.
TV news programmes recalled his quirky and impassioned
interviews and his famed rage-filled run to the Atalanta fans
stand after receiving a host of insults in a game in the mid
90s.
Roma said they would "always love you with an immense love"
while Italy and Juve goalkeeping legend Gianluigi Buffon said
"his passion was unique and unrepeatable".
Italy 2002 World Cup winner and Inter great Marco Materazzi said
"I would never have forgotten you".
One minute0's silence will be observed for the provincial coach
who achieved glory in Rome at Serie A's opening fixtures this
weekend.
