Italy's Filippo Ganna on Sunday
clinched his sixth individual pursuit track-cycling world title
when he beat Britain's Daniel Bigham in the gold-medal final of
the event at the world championships in Glasgow.
The 27-year-old stormed from behind in the closing stages to
beat Bigham by just 0.054 of a second and added to the titles he
won in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022.
There were two Italians on the podium after Ganna's team mate
Jonathan Milan beat Portugal's Ivo Oliveira in the bronze-medal
race.
Ganna and Milan were part of the Italian quartet that took
silver in the ,team pursuit event on Saturday, along with
Francesco Lamon and Manlio Moro.
