The Italian media on Friday called
for a "generational change" in the Italy set-up with an influx
of new blood featuring some of the youngsters already in the
squad after the shock World Cup qualifying defeat to North
Macedonia.
The 20-something players touted to ring the changes included AS
Roma forward Nicolò Zaniolo, Juventus striker Moise Kean, AC
Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali, who came on late against the
Macedonians, and Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni who
played well on Thursday night deputising for injured centreback
Bonucci.
