An Aste Bolaffi auction of
football memorabilia held on Milan on Wednesday was a big
success, with 100% of lots sold and 140,000 euros generated,
including commissions.
The top lot of the sale, which featured 90 in total, was AC
Milan's charter that a prominent lawyer from northern city,
Giuseppe La Scala, bought from the floor for 93,750 euros.
He said the purchase was a necessary gesture for supporters
to preserve the club's history, given that no AC Milan
representatives were present at the auction.
The second top lot was the Cagliari No. 11 shirt that Gigi
Riva wore in 1970 on the day when the team from Sardinia won its
historic "scudetto" Serie A league title.
The emblematic shirt takes a return trip back home, as it was
purchased by an executive member of the club for 16,250 euros.
A Juventus number 1 shirt wore by goalkeeper Dino Zoff,
fetched 6.500 euros and was purchased via internet Charity
platform "Charitystars.com" on behalf of a client.
